Why Choose Emory for Cancer Care?

The Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is Georgia’s first and only National Cancer Institute (NCI)–designated cancer center. Part of an elite group of 69 centers nationwide that are on the forefront of the battle against cancer, Winship at Emory serves as the coordinating center for a vast array of resources in medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging and the subspecialties of cancer care throughout Emory University and Emory Healthcare.

As an NCI-designated cancer center, our participation in national and international clinical trials ensures that our patients have access to the latest advances in cancer treatments. In fact, in the last seven years, our teams have led, or participated in clinical trials resulting in over 75% of new FDA-approved cancer treatments. To benefit from these investigational advancements, it is important to seek care from an academic medical center, first. It’s only once these treatments are approved that they’re made available to other hospitals.

Congratulations to our Emory physicians who make up the majority of Atlanta's Top Doctors who treat cancer!
