Face Lift

While a facelift is a classic and comprehensive facial rejuvenation surgery that can be used to tighten, smooth, and contour the aging face for a more youthful appearance, recent advances have made the results better and more natural. Facelift surgery can be customized to suit each patient's needs. In some instances it can be a fairly subtle and minimally invasive procedure. Alternatively, the procedure can also be an in-depth surgery that produces dramatic, long-lasting results. Facelift surgery is best for patients who are experiencing moderate to severe signs of aging.

Brow Lift

One of the most common areas to show early signs of aging is the brow. Time and gravity pull the brow down, resulting in a sad, angry, or tired expression. Brow sagging can become so severe over time that the eyes appear hooded. In addition to sagging skin on the brow, horizontal wrinkles for the forehead and vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows ("the elevens") form, contributing to an aged and sometimes unwelcoming facial expression. A brow lift is used to tighten and lift the brow to help improve resting expression and restore youth to the brow.

Cosmetic Eyelid Surgeries

With age, the eyelids often begin to look puffy and drooping. Resting facial expression may also change, with aging eyes often creating a perpetually tired expression. Blepharoplasty is a popular surgical procedure, used to tighten and rejuvenate the upper and/or lower eyelids by recontouring and removing excess fat and skin in the area. Eyelid surgery can restore a youthful appearance to the eye area, and can improve resting facial expressions.

Reconstructive Oculoplastics

There are many reasons that reconstructive surgery of the eye area may be necessary, including ptosis (drooping of the eyelids), lids that face inward or outward, missing or retracted eyelids, and traumatic deformity to the eyelids. Reconstructive oculoplastics can help to restore normal form and function of the eyelid.

Facial Fat Transfer and Implants

Aging involves more than wrinkles and sagging skin. Many people will notice that they lose facial volume and fullness over time, which can result in an excessively aged, gaunt, and hollow appearance. Other prospective patients may wish to change the shape and size of the cheeks or chin. There are several procedures that can be used to address these problems, including facial fat transfer and facial implants. Fat transfer involves the harvest of fat from one area of the body (such as the stomach, hips, or thighs) and using this fat to add natural volume back into the face for rejuvenation purposes. Implants are synthetic devices that are inserted in the cheek or chin area for permanent augmentation improving the overall symmetry of the face.

Laser Skin Surgery

Wrinkles are one of the most common complaints people have during the aging process. While nothing can stop the aging process altogether, deeper laser skin treatments can help restore youth to the face, treating wrinkles, dull and discolored skin, and more.

Lip Augmentation

Beautiful, full lips are part of a youthful appearance. Today, there are many different options available for contouring the lips, from simple injections to permanent implants. For temporary, natural-looking enhancement, many patients choose fillers, which offer a quick and instant solution to thin lips with poor contour. Permanent options include fat transfer procedures, which use the patient's own fat to augment the lips, as well as synthetic implants, which are currently used much less commonly. The procedures can be customized according to the individual patient's goals.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

One of the most popular plastic surgery procedures is the rhinoplasty, or a nose job. The rhinoplasty can address many different aspects of the nose, including the size, shape, and projection. The surgery can also be used to fix common breathing problems, such as a deviated septum. Rhinoplasty is appropriate for adults with aesthetic issues, as well as those with breathing problems, correcting both form and function. The surgery offers patients permanent results, and can often improve the overall balance and symmetry of the face.

Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Otoplasty is a type of cosmetic ear surgery that is also commonly referred to as "ear pinning". Otoplasty surgery can significantly improve the physical appearance of the ears, and can be performed on both children and adults, as long as the ears are fully mature. Aside from the physical benefits of the procedure, otoplasty can also improve overall self-esteem and confidence in patients young and old. Here at the Emory Aesthetic Center, we offer this surgery for adult patients.
