Patient Care Services
No other eye center in Georgia provides more comprehensive services for the eye than the Emory Eye Center. With a faculty of 22 ophthalmologists and four doctors of optometry, the Eye Center oversees more than 80,000 patient visits each year. Our physicians and optometrists practice with The Emory Clinic and are faculty members with the Emory University School of Medicine.
Patient care in the Eye Center is supported by strong programs in basic science and clinical research, ensuring that patients benefit directly from the most recent treatment advances. The Eye Center is one of the top ten NIH-funded eye research institutions in the U.S., with total grant funds of close to $6 million. It is the only eye center in Georgia consistently included in U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals ranking since 1994. In addition, Ophthalmology Times, a news magazine for ophthalmologists, ranks Emory as one of the top ten leading eye centers in the country.
