Bringing together authoritative information from the National Library of Medicine, the NIH, and other government agencies and health-related organizations, MedLinePlus has detailed data on over 700 diseases and conditions as well as links to thousands of clinical trials.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)

The NHLBI conducts, fosters, and supports an integrated and coordinated program of basic research, clinical investigations and trials, observational studies, and demonstration and education projects related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, blood vessel, lung, and blood diseases as well as sleep disorders. One of the site's most useful resources is a diseases and conditions index; the heart and vascular diseases section includes descriptions of angioplasty, aneurysm, coronary artery disease, mitral valve prolapse, peripheral arterial disease, stents, and varicose veins.

The website for this enduring organization, originally founded in 1924, includes an extensive section on peripheral arterial disease as well as health and lifestyle tips.
