EUH Facilities team sets the standard for recognition boards
When passing by the hallways toward the EUH Facilities department (ground floor near Pharmacy) every day, the Facilities team had a vision. Where some people would have seen a blank wall, this team saw opportunity! Jerry Lewis, who leads the Facilities team, turned to department team member Cheryl McCrary (pictured left) to manage bringing this vision to life. Learn more.
A Long Way From Home, But Close to Caring Hearts
When the Midtown team members on Unit 11 welcomed a victim from the earthquake in Haiti to their unit, there was not a single question that they wanted to provide help and comfort to her. The challenge, though, was figuring out what additional things they could do for her under her circumstances. After all, she was a long way from home, away from her children and didn't speak English. Learn how the these team members came together to help this patient.
OR team turns a conference room into a mattress store!Just like Goldilocks needed three tries to figure out which of the three bears' beds she wanted to nap in, we often need to roam a mattress store until we determine the perfect bed for our snoozing preferences. Well, imagine choosing a mattress for an even more important reason - to keep a patient comfortable, secure and minus pressure ulcers after surgery. This was just the challenge that the Operating Room (OR) team at Emory University Hospital recently faced when setting out to select enhanced table pads for the OR. Read more.
