Preparing For Your Stay

Patient Admissions can be found just adjacent to our geriatric hospital lobby. For elderly patients needing assistance into the hospital, our Admissions staff will be glad to help.

Before a patient is admitted for geriatric care, typically an admissions representative will need to collect patient information. However, if an elderly patient is very ill or arrives by ambulance, he or she will be admitted immediately and a family member or guardian will be asked to complete the admissions process.

For patients who have planned their arrival at Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital, there are several items from home you may bring to make your stay at the hospital more comfortable. We recommend that you bring:

  • Five complete changes of clothes and undergarments
  • Sleepwear and robe/housecoat
  • Comfortable non-skid footwear
  • Personal toiletries
  • A list of all medications, including dosage and strength
  • The name and contact information for your primary care physician
  • Verification of insurance

Please note that Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital is a smoke-free facility. Cigarettes and lighters are not permitted in or around the facility and will be sent home or secured in a storage area.
