Kelly Melton MS, ATC, LAT

Kelly MeltonKelly serves as a clinical athletic trainer assisting several of the physicians within Emory Orthopaedics. Kelly came to Emory Sports Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she spent two years as the athletic trainer for the men's soccer team.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Kelly graduated with high honors from the University of Louisville in 2001, majoring in physical education with a concentration in exercise science/sports medicine and a minor in sports administration. She received a master's degree in sports medicine from Georgia State University in 2003, while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Emory University. She was the assistant athletic trainer at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and worked with Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Clinic covering high school outreach. During her time at UAB, Kelly also served as an athletic trainer at the Lakeshore Foundation, working with wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball players. Kelly keeps herself fit as a Pilates and yoga instructor. She also enjoys most outdoor activities and embraces the opportunity to snow ski when the southern weather permits.
