Currently, we have 22 operating rooms, including an interventional OR for endovascular cases and endoscopic cardiac surgeries. An average day for the OR includes approximately 50 surgical procedures.

This collaborative, multidisciplinary effort is changing the way we provide care in the OR and throughout our hospitals and clinics. With this technology, information is available systemwide immediately and simultaneously It is readily available every time a patient visits a new care area within Emory Healthcare. Clinicians can collaboratively validate, rather than independently document, the same patient history and information, such as height, age, allergies, etc. Additionally, nurses can enter patient information, diagnoses, prescriptions, and orders directly into computers located in exam rooms, the OR, at the bedside or at nurses' stations.
