Inpatient Psychiatry Services

Managing mental health disorders like anxiety or depression can interfere with your ability to live a full and happy life. Your condition can also impact your loved ones. We provide inpatient psychiatry services to help manage mental health conditions and co-occurring substance abuse issues.

Inpatient Psychiatry Services at Emory Healthcare are part of our Brain Health Center. This center is one of only a handful of specialized centers worldwide focused on treating brain conditions.

Our inpatient psychiatry programs are located at Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods. We treat adults and seniors aged 18 and older in a safe and caring environment. We strive to treat all patients with respect and dignity.

Our treatment center includes 44 licensed acute-care inpatient beds

We provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for all psychiatric conditions and mood disorders. We create a treatment plan to help you regain your health and quality of life.

We assess your treatment needs and facilitate healing in a therapeutic environment. Our Inpatient Psychiatry Services include two separate care units:

• Acute psychotic unit, specifically designed to meet the needs of patients with psychotic behaviors 
• Major depressive disorders unit, for patients experiencing symptoms related to severe depression

We also provide targeted therapies such as:

• Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) 
• Ketamine infusions

Both treatments can all be continued on an outpatient basis after you leave the hospital.

Our transitional programs provide intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization outpatient care as you learn to manage your condition.
