In order to become an audiologist, candidates complete a four year, Doctorate of Audiology (AuD), post-Bachelors degree, consisting of clinical rotations and lecture. The last year of this AuD is called an externship and allows the student to be completely immersed in a clinical setting, typically from June to May graduation of the next year, aiming towards clinical independence by the end of the year. At Emory Audiology, we are proud to offer a one-year externship to help shape the future of audiology and enrich our program, keeping our team fresh and on the edge of the latest testing and treatment techniques.
