Onboarding Activities

New Employee Orientation

We are excited to welcome you to Emory Healthcare! Our goal is to welcome you in style and create a meaningful First Day experience of connection and belonging. Get ready to dive into the heart of Emory Healthcare, explore our vibrant culture, and discover the vital role you'll play in our organization. We can't wait to embark on this journey with you!

On your first day, you will attend New Employee Orientation (NEO). During NEO, you will learn about Emory and how you play an important role in shaping patient care. All new employees, regardless of role or location, attend this important session, meet new team members joining from across the system and walk away with useful information and resources.

What you will learn at New Employee Orientation

After attending NEO, you will know more about:

  • Who we are and how we work together.
  • Expectations of us as Emory Healthcare team members
  • Our commitment to well-being and wellness resources available
  • Key tools and resources for your success

Additional Onboarding

  • You will complete self-paced e-learning modules within 30 days of your start in our online HealthStream Learning Center (HLC).
  • Patient facing roles will attend Patient Services Orientation (PSO) on Day 2.
  • There may be additional Orientation Sessions as part of your Operating Unit onboarding. You will learn more from your direct leader or your local HR Business Partner.
  • There may be additional training on various software used at Emory Healthcare, including EPIC – our electronic health records system.

Your First Week

Take the time to get oriented to your Department and Team after you get started. Your hiring manager will share more guidance and information on what your first week will look like.

Employee Identification Badge

You will receive an official Emory Healthcare photo ID badge to wear during work hours during New Employee Orientation or at your site location. You will receive additional information from your hiring manager if you work in an offsite location.
