Residents, who need both nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and incontinent care, can live in comfortable private rooms with the added comfort of having their own personal items brought from home.

Long-term care residents in our center enjoy meals in bright, communal dining rooms where the menus change daily. Our seniors have numerous opportunities to engage in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities each day of the week. Residents are also offered productive opportunities to participate in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Restorative Nursing programs to remain as independent as possible. These services are available in the center’s state-of-the-art rehabilitation clinic and directed by a team of approximately 50 doctorate and masters-degreed therapy specialists.

Both long-term care and post-acute care are offered at Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods. Long-term care helps in daily living activities and socialization while post-acute care aids in rehabilitation following a patient’s surgery or hospitalization. Post-acute care provides constant monitoring from our team of geriatric-certified physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists.

Individuals should ask their physician or hospital case manager to fax recent medical records to the Admissions Office at 404-728-6285 or call 404-728-6500 for more information. If the patient/resident has not been seen by a physician within the past 30 days, it may be necessary to schedule an appointment before admission. After staff and physicians have reviewed your medical records and application, an admissions representative will contact you with a recommendation and, if the application is successful, date and time when the new patient/resident may be admitted.

Preparing for Admission

Upon admission, the patient/resident or family member/other responsible people should come to the Admissions Office, located on the first floor of the facility, where an Admissions Counselor will assist with the sign-in process. Patients and residents should bring:

• Insurance Verification/Identification Cards: (including Medicare and any supplemental insurance coverage).
• Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care: A Living Will identifies patient wishes regarding end-of-life care in the event of debilitating health situations. A Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care is a document that gives another responsible individual the right to make healthcare decisions on behalf of the patient/resident if he/she is not able to do so. This document is not required, but Budd Terrace patients/residents are strongly encouraged to consider these issues.
• A Check for the First Billing Statement: If a patient/resident or family member will be paying for facility charges. This initial billing statement will be prorated at the daily private-pay rate for the number of days remaining in the current month. If the patient/resident is admitted after the 25th day of the current month, the initial billing statement will include the remaining days in the current month, plus the charges for the next month.
• Power of Attorney: This legal document gives another responsible individual the right to conduct the patient’s/resident/s personal business affairs in the event the patient/resident is unable to do so. This is not required, but Budd Terrace patients/residents are strongly encouraged to consider these issues.
• Information Needed by Medical and Nursing Staff: If a patient/resident is admitted to Budd Terrace directly from home, assisted living facility, or personal care home, he/she may bring a pharmacy printout of all current medications or simply bring all current medication containers. The healthcare team must be notified of every medication (including over-the-counter medications) and supplement a patient/resident is taking.

What to Bring

Patients/Residents admitting to Budd Terrace should consider bringing the following personal items for their stay:

Budd Terrace provides laundry service for personal clothing (all clothing should be machine washable and able to withstand high wash/dry temperatures). The laundry staff will label your clothing items. Due to limited closet space, please bring items for the current season only.

Personalize Your Space

Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods provides a hospital bed (must be provided by the facility), bedspread, pillow, dresser, and bedside table. Patients/Residents can bring other personal items, provided they are in good condition and do not overcrowd the room. Budd Terrace will help move in.

Below are personal items prohibited in patients’/residents’ rooms due to federal/state regulations:

When bringing furniture items from home, please park at the loading dock (located on the side of the facility) between the hours of 9 am – 11 am; 2 pm – 4 pm; or after 7 pm.

Suggested Items to Bring

Equipment

Please note that all electrical equipment must be inspected for safety by the maintenance staff before being moved into the room. Appliances NOT allowed include (but are not limited to) portable space heaters, electrical fans, lamps with clip-on shades, halogen lamps or bulbs, and cooking equipment such as hot plates. Use of electric blankets, heating pads, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers is permitted only with a physician’s approval.
