Grand Rounds & CME Events

Grand Rounds

Attend Emory Cardiology Grand Rounds and earn continuing medical education credits while you gain real-world knowledge and insights. The audience consists of clinical and research faculty from all divisions, as well as fellows, residents and medical students. Presentations are followed by a brief Q&A session.

Emory Cardiology Grand Rounds take place every Monday at 7:30 a.m. and videos are posted shortly thereafter.

Continuing Medical Education

You can get continuing medical education (CME) credit while you learn about the latest advances and considerations in cardiovascular care. Courses are offered throughout the year to fit in your busy schedule. We offer both live and online CME programs.

Instructors are Emory and other nationally respected faculty. All CME events are accredited by the American Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Upcoming Events

EPIC SEC is an annual event since 1981 providing a cutting-edge update of the newest strategies in coronary, structural heart, and peripheral vascular imaging, physiology and intervention. This course will feature the cumulative wisdom of 17 academic centers with live case demonstrations, lectures, presentations and discussions of complex cases, debates between well-known interventionalists and surgeons, and the opportunity for insightful audience participation and discussion.
At ESCAPE attendees will hear nationally renowned speakers discuss guidelines on hypertension, blood cholesterol, obesity, healthy living, and risk assessment. There will also be lectures on electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure, tobacco cessation and women's heart health.

Women and Heart Disease

 "Women and Heart Disease” has a strong regional reputation as a premier cardiovascular CME/CE conference offered in a consolidated half day format featuring highly regarded local and national faculty. The conference focuses on prevention of cardiovascular disease exploring new concepts and therapies as they relate to women and at-risk ethnic groups.

Southern Symposium on Heart Failure

The Southern Symposium on Heart Failure is designed for cardiologists, primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, allied health professionals, and residents/fellows involved in the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.

Frontiers in Fontan Failure: Innovation and Improving Outcomes

This course will focus on the management of the failing Fontan patient and will address solutions to lifelong problems. Presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory Heart & Vascular Center and the Congenital Heart Center of Georgia.

Cardiology in Primary Care

With the restructuring of health care in the United States, one of the major changes in patient care has been a shift from subspecialty care to primary care. In addition, cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death and disability in the U.S. As a result, much of the burden of caring for patients with cardiovascular disease will fall on primary care physicians. This meeting is designed to provide an update in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease for primary care providers.
